During Holy Week, Antigua Guatemala hosts the most beautiful religious celebration in the America, when huge processions wind their way through the town’s streets. Actually, the celebration begins on Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, and reaches its climax on Good Friday, when Antigua streets are thronged with processions and reverent spectator. The processions consist of big floats, or ‘andas’, bearing statues of Christ with a cross, that are carried by hundreds of purple-robed men.

HELP MAKE SEMANA SANTA
A HAPPY ONE!!!
Semana Santa, the week before Easter, is one of the most significant holidays of the year in Guatemala, yet many struggling families are forced to sit on the sidelines, without any food to eat.
With your help, we've changed this for many families over the years, including the Cruz family, six orphan siblings who lost both their parents. All six siblings have been part of our student program, and the eldest has now purchased a local bakery through our microloan program.
With only $40, you can bring much needed nourishment to either your sponsored student's family or one of our many families, orphans or elderly in need by giving them a Semana Santa Food Basket, full of sweet breads from the Cruz family's bakery, as well as chicken, fruits and more food - enough to feed 10 people!
Donate today and bring joy to those Guatemalan families who need it most during this celebratory time.
We truly could not have done any of this without you.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
